In Telegram, Levels act like an “experience bar” for public groups and channels. As a community reaches higher levels, it unlocks premium customization and functional features that are usually reserved for individual users.
What Levels Unlock
Each level grants specific perks to the entire community:
-
Stories: Channels and groups can post Stories that appear at the top of their members’ chat lists. Higher levels allow for more stories per day.
-
Customization: Unlock the ability to set a custom wallpaper, a unique profile cover, and a group emoji pack.
-
Appearance: Change the color of the group/channel name and link previews.
-
Custom Emoji: At Level 4+, groups can allow members to use custom emoji packs within the chat, even if the members don’t have Premium.
-
Voice-to-Text: High-level groups can provide automatic transcription for voice messages sent within the chat.
How to Boost
Groups and channels level up by receiving Boosts from Telegram Premium users.
-
Premium Allotment: Every Telegram Premium subscriber gets 4 boosts to distribute among their favorite groups or channels.
-
Giveaways: Channel owners can “buy” boosts by hosting a Premium Giveaway. You pay for a certain number of Premium subscriptions, and Telegram automatically assigns the associated boosts to your channel for the duration of those subscriptions.
-
Direct Links: You can share a specific boost link with your members (e.g., t.me/yourchannel?boost). When a Premium user clicks it, they can instantly assign their boost to you.
How to Check Your Level
-
Channel: Go to Channel Settings > Statistics > Boosts.
-
Group: Go to Group Settings > Statistics > Boosts.
-
Note: Statistics and Boosts are usually only visible to owners and admins once the community has a minimum number of members (typically 50-100).
